Veterinary Acupuncture

Scarlett Mobile Large Animal Services is proud to offer veterinary acupuncture services for large animals!

Dr. Becky Scarlett recently completed a 130 hour veterinary acupuncture course at the Chi Institute located in Florida, and is now offering veterinary acupuncture services for large animals. Acupuncture is one branch of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (or TCVM) that has been practiced on animals for thousands of years. TCVM focuses on healing or maintaining health by bringing balance to the body. Acupuncture can be used to treat many conditions and can be used in conjunction with conventional medical treatments. Acupuncture can be effective for treating musculoskeletal problems such as back pain and degenerative joint disease; neurological disorders such as laryngeal hemiplegia, facial and radial nerve paralysis; chronic conditions such as heaves, anhidrosis, and Cushing’s disease; and gastrointestinal disorders. Pictured is Dr. Becky Scarlett’s horse Luna, showing relaxation after insertion of dry needles to treat a left forelimb lameness.
