Katie Autry, our first registered veterinary technician, joined us in 2010 and we’re so glad she chose our practice. Katie grew up in Randolph County, the youngest of three children, learning to be tough having 2 older brothers to contend with. Katie and her husband still live nearby their families and she enjoys spending time with them as often as possible. Her 4-legged family consists of 2 cats, “Griffin” and “Taylor.” That’s all her modest apartment dwelling will allow for now, but we foresee sheep, goats, and horses in her future.
Katie attended Central Carolina Community College in Sanford and graduated in 2006 with an associate degree in Applied Science in the Registered Veterinary Technician Program. She worked at Asheboro Animal Hospital while attending school, strengthening her small animal skills, and continued there after graduation.
Five years later Katie is embarking on a whole new adventure. She’s been eye to eye with miniature horses, trotting beside massive warmbloods, cuddling baby doll sheep, and arm deep palpating heifers to artificially inseminate. Katie is an integral member of our team and is well equipped to assist with your animal family.
